All you do is re-hydrate them when you're ready to use them. They really plump up in hot water, and taste wonderful in breads.Really fresh , iiWould buy again. NO questionWhen you want onion smell and flavor but you don't want to start chopping up a whole onion, turn to the flakes. I also purchased garlic flakes. I add these into oil or butter in order to saute them. I use them when making burgers in a pan. The flavor meshes well with the burger. My wife insists that I do not throw the onions out from the pan, because she likes to eat them later.I like this size because it is cost-efficient and lasts a long time. These are crunchy, tasty, and much easier to store than whole onions. People in small households (like me and many others I have spoken to) find it difficult to use too many fresh items before the remainder is spoiled and must be discarded--many of us think this is terribly wasteful when so much work went into growing the produce. The chopped onions have more flavor and more crunch than the minced onions, so be sure to buy "chopped." I use them in salads, canned soup, and almost anything. Recently, I combined Uncle Ben's Long Grain and Wild Rice with Starkist canned tuna, prepared it in the microwave, and then stirred in McCormick chopped onions before serving.
