I went to my local store and they had the French's brand in the larger bags. I purchased one and was very disappointed. I ended up getting rid of the bag.I came to Amazon and saw these. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but the Gourmet brand is better than French's. The texture and taste for me is better. I will definitely repurchase! I mix the garlic/pepper with the original.
